This is just a quick post so won’t take too long to read. I wanted something that would help my calorie intake and which was simply to make and could be eaten anytime. There are many recipes for overnight oats this is my twist.

I have had a few people ask me about my gym training and the exercises that I incorporate into my sessions. Currently my programme is strength, power, strength as we are now getting into competition season. I have three sessions with six different exercises in each. Here are some of the exercises and why I do them.
On Saturday I made the long trip up to Gateshead for my final indoor competition of the season. This was going to be a real test as it would be the first time I had completed 5 events in one day, for several years. It wasn’t a traditional pentathlon which would normally include, hurdles, long jump, shot putt, high jump and 1000m but the 1000m was changed to a flat 60m sprint due to the limitations of the indoor facility.
As a junior I was heavily involved in athletics as a decathlete. Unfortunately, as an under 20 I sustained a pretty serious back injury that prevented me competing at the level I knew I was capable of when fully fit. Consequently, I stopped competing. I never lost my love of the sport and kept an eye out for performances of the top athletes.
